Which Naruto Filler Are Worth a Watch?

Before discussing The Naruto filler list, I will talk about the evolution of this immortal series. “Naruto” is both written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto sensei.

The story is mainly split into two parts, one set in Naruto’s pre-teen years and the other in the prime of his teenage years.

Based on Sensei’s Manga of the same title, released in 1999, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, it has a total of 72 Volumes.

The anime was taken up by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex, who released 220 episodes of Naruto’s pre-teen years titled “Naruto” from 2002 to 2007.

Then the teen years Anime was released by the same studios from 2007 to 2017 titled “Naruto: Shippuden”, having 500 episodes in total.

Also, Studio Pierrot made eleven movies and twelve Original Video Animations (OVAs).

The series has spanned even Light Novels, Video games, Trading Cards, and much similar merchandise.

But like much other popular Shonen anime, “Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden” both have their fair share of fillers.

Is Naruto Filler List Good or Bad?

That is mainly up to the viewer to decide if they choose to watch them. Typically, amongst most fans, these fillers are called “bad”, except for a few.

Regardless, for those who wish to watch everything casually, this Naruto Filler List might be welcoming.

While for those who only want the original story from the manga that sensei himself has written and drawn, the Naruto Filler List might be a pain.

This series too has Canon episodes, Canon/Filler mix episodes, and completely filler episodes.

The list of pre-teen fillers as per episode numbers are as follows;

Episodes 7, 9, 14 to 16, 18 to 21, 23 to 24, 27 to 30, 37 to 41, 43 to 47, 49, 52 to 60, 63, 66, 69 to 72, 74, 83, 98 to 100, 112 to 114, 126 to 127, 130 to 131, 141 to 142 and 220 are all Canon/Filler mix episodes.

Thus it is not a great idea to skip these as canon content is included.

Episodes 26, 97, 101 to 106, 136 to 140, and 143 to 219 are all complete fillers and can be skipped without any consequence to the main story.

Which Filler List is Worth a Watch?

Going by episode numbers in Naruto; Episodes 101, 136 to 141, 152 to 157, 185, 186, 192, and 216–220 were decent.

They look at important but supportive characters that are generally left out of the spotlight and more insight about the main characters as well.

In the least, they are entertaining.

Going by episode numbers in Naruto Shippuden; Episodes 90 to 112, 127 to 128, 144 to 151, 180, 183, 186, 234,  271, 290 to 295, 303 to 305, 349 to 361, 376 to 377, 389 to 391, 394 to 413, 451 to 458, 480 to 483 and 484 to 488.

Once again, they look at more supporting characters, have an effect on the bigger picture of the main story, reminiscent of the story’s past, build up future events, have a comedic effect, build up the couples towards the end, and even adapt some stories from the Light Novels.

Recommended entertaining episodes to watch.
