Jougan, also spelt as Jogan is the best character in Naruto’s history. As saddened as fans were that it ended, they were also happy and content with how far their beloved characters had come.
Masashi Kishimoto sensei brought fans this series which made its way into the older Big Three of Shonen anime.
How many thought it was the end of their experience in the Shinobi world when Naruto ended?
Regardless, the Naruto Next Generations started soon after, pleasing dedicated fans of the series to no end.
Written by Ukyō Kodachi sensei in conjunction with Masashi Kishimoto sensei himself, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto sensei.
It was serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Manga and Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016.
As of November 2020, Kishimoto sensei took over as the Writer. Felt the series was getting better recently.
Well, now the reason is apparent.
The Anime is directed by Noriyuki Abe by Studio Pierrot released in April 2017. Dōjutsu always played a pivotal part in the Naruto world.
These are ninja abilities that use the eyes, as by-products of a particular Kekkei Genkai or Kekkei Mora.
Dojutsu bestows upon their wielder’s passive abilities as well as jutsu actively derived from them. Effective use requires the right genetic background of the user for it.
Their usage comes with numerous side effects, and great costs in exchange for great power.
The three biggest Dojutsu known in the series are the Byakugan, Sharingan, and the Rinnegan.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Boruto series is the introduction of a unique new dojutsu named the Jogan, also Spelled as Jougan which literally translates to “Pure Eye”.
Known only to the Otsutsuki Clan, they describe Jougan as a troublesome power that is inherited only within their clan.
Visually, it is a light blue colour dojutsu with a dark sclera and visible pupil.
Jougan is a Kekkei Genkai dojutsu (bloodline inherited ocular technique) whose only known wielder as of now is Boruto Uzumaki himself.
Jougan first appeared to Boruto while he was still in the Ninja Academy when he lacked the ability to activate it on purpose.
It would simply involuntarily activate when he focused on something or someone. In particular, when in the presence of impending dangerous or hidden targets.
But as he grew into his teenage years, he was able to voluntarily activate it.
Its power lies in the ability to perceive the flow of Chakra, allowing the user to see the variations in oneself's chakra and to also track a target via their chakra.
It presents a clear Chakra pathway system to the wielder and pinpoints its key point.
Additionally, it can see through invisible barriers that connect different dimensions. Finally, it can predict where Yomotsu Hirasaka will be used.
The Animators confirmed to fans that the Jougan is neither a Byakugan nor Tenseigan and is similar to Naruto’s ability to sense negative emotions.
Being related to the Otsutsuki Clan’s dimension, much more details on it are set to be explained as the series continues.
The Jougan has so much promise and foreshadowing for the future of the series, being hinted at as one very powerful dojutsu.
Excited for what it holds for the Boruto series which keeps getting better lately? Buckle up for this epic series as it reaches its climax!
