Kakashi Hatake is well-known as the copy ninja who is also a formidable opponent. Fans know that it’s always better to be on his good side. It’s never easy to fight strong enemies, unless- you’re Kakashi.
He’s listed in the enemies Bingo book and is a wanted man by many men. If you haven’t heard of him already, he’s known as the Copy Ninja with the Sharingan and a mask. It definitely makes him look cooler. Kakashi hails from the Hatake clan, often recognized by their silver hair and incredible skill.
His father, Sakumo Hatake was known to be greater than the Legendary Sannin, who are three of the most powerful Ninja from the Hidden Leaf. Now, that definitely says something. Kakashi is a prodigy who became a Chunin and a Jonin at a very young age.
He’s had his fair share of troubles but nothing that a hero can’t survive. Kakashi’s abilities are well-known in the ninja world. His Chidori is an instant killer. So, here are 10 unforgettable fights of Kakashi Hatake you need to know:
1. Kakashi and Team 7 vs Zabuza
This fight unforgettably introduced Kakashi. Kakashi is never one to back down and has the will of fire which was passed down to his team- Team 7. Zabuza being one of the 7 Swordsmen of the Mist, clearly underestimated Kakashi with his Sharingan which resulted in his defeat.
In his defense, he never fought anyone with a Sharingan. Moreover, Kakashi outsmarted him easily considering that Zabuza did not anticipate Kakashi’s power move.
2. Kakashi vs Orochimaru
For anyone who’s watched the series, you know how hard it is to beat Orochimaru. The only one who came remotely close to defeating him in his weakened state was Itachi.
When Orochimaru was about to desert the village, a young Anbu Black-Ops Kakashi tried to stop him. Kakashi might be strong but against someone like Orochimaru, it’s best to get help. Kakashi feared for his life when he fought him. Ultimately, Orochimaru did manage to escape and the Chidori failed against him.
3. Kakashi vs Itachi
The fact that a non-Uchiha like Kakashi was able to handle the formidable Itachi Uchiha himself, says a lot about his strength. Itachi is one of the strongest characters in Naruto and Kishimoto himself said that he had to be killed for the story to fall in place.
When Itachi and Kisame infiltrated the Leaf Village to capture Naruto, he came across Kakashi, who in all his might tried to fight him without falling into Itachi’s trap. Unfortunately for him, winning against a pure Sharingan user is no cakewalk. He had fallen under the Tsukuyomi which had him bed-ridden for days.

4. Kakashi vs Pain
One of the most unforgettable fights not only of Kakashi but of the Naruto series itself. It takes place in Naruto Shippuden when Pain destroys the Leaf Village to capture Naruto.
Kakashi is strong and has amazing moves but not against the magnetic-wielding theirn who possesses the Rinnegan. Despite all that, Kakashi fought with the help of other ninjas to his death. Luckily, Kakashi is a genius who was also able to save Choji too, right before he succumbed.
5. Kakashi and Team 7 vs Kaguya
Kakashi and Team 7 of Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke always do a brilliant job of defeating the enemies. Kaguya is the ultimate villain and the strongest of them all in Naruto and it took the entire ninja world to stop the series of bad guys.
Kakashi might not have special powers like Naruto and Sasuke nor the chakra but he did his best by helping Team 7 defeat her. One of the few moments we see them all together was unforgettable indeed.
6. Kakashi vs Madara
Madara Uchiha is not an easy opponent. In fact, he’s so strong that one of the only people to defeat him is the First Hokage- Hashirama Senju. The only other person who came close to defeating him was Might Guy, who almost died because of it.
During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Kakashi, Naruto, and Might Guy together fought Madara and Tobi who were trying to seize the Nine-Tails from Naruto. It was a hard fight considering that Kakashi and Guy had to face their old friend Obito aka Tobi.
7. Kakashi vs Obito
This is one of the best fights of Naruto which was brilliantly choreographed. It’s not easy being an Uchiha, with mood swings and extreme emotions. Obito Uchiha clearly lost his way in the series which resulted in the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Watching Kakashi and Obito fight was similar to watching Naruto and Sasuke fight except with a different set of powers. Obito was defeated, not literally, but Kakashi helped change his mind about the whole war. This fight was also between the same Sharingan since Obito lent Kakashi his Sharingan during the Third Ninja War.
8. Kakashi vs Team 7 (without Sasuke)
This might not be a fight-to-death kind of fight but Kakashi vs Team 7 is always a blast to watch. Sadly it's not Team 7 without Sasuke. But with the increased level of power of both Naruto and Sakura, this time Kakashi had to keep his Icha Icha Tactics away.
Naruto and Sakura fought Kakashi with his Sharingan unlike before. It was difficult, to say the least. Kakashi is very smart and clearly was no match for them both. Nevertheless, it was fun to watch their progress.
9. Kakashi vs Kakuzu
We’ve never seen Kakashi lose his suit in a fight but this was one of them. Kakashi easily wins against most enemies but fighting Kakuzu who has been there since the First Hokage’s time is not easy.
With the difference in experience, Kakashi had to be the smarter one. For a while it worked- but Naruto and the others had to come as backup and help them fight. This was also one of the best-choreographed fights in Naruto Shippuden.
10. Kakashi vs Sasuke
It’s never easy to fight someone close to you. When Sasuke went off the rails and was on a rampage to kill anyone related to the Leaf Village, Kakashi had to step in and stop him. Sasuke had newfound powers which made it all the more difficult for Kakashi to fight him.
Kakashi had to try his best to stop him before Naruto came and saved the day. Needless to say, it’s not every day that you see a mentor fighting his student to death.
