Webtoons are one of the most famous sources of entertainment in South Korea. For those of you who aren't aware of what webtoons are, they are online comic books released episode-wise every week. These webtoons are famous with the name Manhwas worldwide.

These webtoons are often converted into K-Dramas.  Some of the most famous K dramas are based on these webtoons. These K-dramas achieved a lot of popularity after their release. She goes on a blind date with Jin Young-Seo with the goal of having her date reject her. Shin Ha-Ri is astounded when she first sees her blind date. Kang Tae-Moo is her mystery date. She works for a company where he serves as CEO.

The CEO of the business his grandfather founded is Kang Tae-Moo. He learned about his upcoming blind date from his grandfather one day. Being a workaholic, Kang Tae-Moo finds it annoying that his grandfather arranges blind dates for him.

In order to stop being distracted from his work, he makes the decision to wed the next woman he meets on a blind date. While posing as Jin Young-Seo, that woman is actually Shin Ha-Ri.

The following day, Kang Tae-Moo calls Shin Ha-Ri on the phone. He makes her a marriage proposal.

18. Tomorrow

Choi Jun-Woong searches for employment, but finding employment is difficult for him. He unintentionally runs into Koo Ryeon and Im Ryoog-Gu, two grim reapers, one evening. The two death reapers are a part of a crisis response group. Lim Ryung-Gu is a member and Koo Ryeon is the leader. They want to stop suicidal people, after all. Choi Jun-Woong will soon join the crisis management team as a new member.

17. All of Us Are Dead

The majority of the series takes place in a South Korean high school as a zombie apocalypse breaks out and threatens the students' safety. It is based on the identical Naver webtoon created by Joo Dong-Geun and released between 2009 and 2011.

Van was brought up to defend the world from evil. He developed himself into a weapon. He now kills evil-possessed victims and battles evil. Though he doesn't express regret for his actions, he nevertheless feels guilt.

Won Mi-Ho comes from a family that owns a significant business. Because of her severe misbehaviour, she is exiled to Jeju Island, where she works as a teacher. She then becomes involved in a ghostly case. Catholic priest Johan carries out exorcisms. His noble objective is to preserve life and eliminate evil.

Yoon A-Yi is a high school student, but she works part-time jobs to support herself and her younger sister. She is unaware of the location of her parents. Due to debt collectors, her mother left the house after her father was forced to leave. She manages to achieve academically close to the top marks at her school despite her dire financial situation.

She is also attractive in person. Yoon A-Yi desires to reach adulthood as soon as possible in order to secure a steady job. Na Il-Deung is her classmate in the meantime. Yoon A-Yi and he frequently compete for the best grade, but they are starting to develop feelings for one another.

Lee Seul-Bi, meanwhile, possesses a special talent. She has the ability to predict someone's immediate future whenever she touches them. She inherited this special talent from her mother, who possesses it as well.

Due to a CEO who makes use of their unique ability, Lee Seul-Bi and her mother have spent a considerable amount of time in captivity. Lee Seul-Bi is able to flee with the assistance of her mother. The following encounter is her first with Gong Soo-Gwang in 7 years.

Backstreet Rookie was released in 2020 starring Ji Chang-Wook and Kim Yoo-Jung. The drama was based on the 2016-2017 webtoon "Convenience Store Saet-Byul written by Hwalhwasan. The series was aired on SBS from June 19 to August 8, 2020. The show starts with a prologue. Choi Dae-Hyun walks through an alley and encounters three teenage girls.

9. Cheese In The Trap (2016)

Cheese In The Trap was adapted from a webtoon of the same name written by Soonkki serialized on Naver Webtoon from 2010 to 2016. The webtoon amassed popularity which resulted in the formation of the K-drama.

The drama focuses on the life and relationships of a group of university students, particularly the difficult relationship between hardworking scholarship student Hong-Seol and her deceptively kind senior, Yoo-Jung. The K-drama had an original ending since the webtoon was not complete at that time.

8. The Uncanny Counter (2020)

Based on the webtoon "Amazing Rumour" by Jang Yi, it was later transformed into a K-Drama. It starred Jo Byung-Gyu, Yoo Jun-Sang, Kim Se-Jong, and Yeom Hye-Ran. One of Netflix's original series, it had fans watching every episode for its action sequences, heartfelt story, and heartbreaking scenes. The show centres around a disabled teen who is allowed to join the counters.

7. Hell Is Other People (2019)

Based on the Naver Webtoon series of the same name by Kim Yong-Gi, it is the second series of OCN's "Dramatic Cinema" project which combines film and drama formats. It aired from August 31 to October 6, 2019. If you are not into romantic K-Dramas, this K-drama was made for you.

The psychological thriller centres around a young man in his 20s who moves to Seoul after getting a job. He stays in a low-end apartment where he shares the bathroom and kitchen with other residents. As he continues to stay there, odd occurrences begin making him suspicious and fearful of his neighbours.

6. Love Alarm (2019)

Based on the Daum Webtoon of the same name by Chon Kye-Young, it follows the life of a high school girl in a society greatly influenced by a mobile app that is capable of notifying whether someone within their vicinity has romantic feelings for them.  Love Alarm is the first Korean series for pick up by Netflix. It got fans hooked on the young love story and an interesting love triangle.

5. Extraordinary You (2019)

Starring Kim Hye-Yoon, Rowoon, Lee Jae-Wook, and Lee Na-Eun, it is based on the webtoon "July Found By Chance". It was first published in January 2018 on Daum Webtoon. This drama is known for its interesting twists in teen drama storylines.

The main character discovers that her life and the world they live in is a fantasy world in a comic. The comic writer gives her a mediocre fate of getting engaged to someone who hates her and she's expected to die soon. In a turn of events, she writes her own story to find true love, but it comes at a cost.

4. My ID Is Gangnam Beauty (2018)

2018 released K-Drama "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty" starring Im Soo-Hyang, Cha Eun-Woo, Joo Woo-Ri, and Kwak Dong-Yeon. Based the webtoon of the same name published in 2016 by Naver Webtoon, centres on the life of a college student who went under cosmetic surgery to evade bullies, yet her decision seems to backfire as he peers decided to make fun of the fact that she is living under a mask now.

The title of the K-Drama and Webtoon highlights the Korean word Gangnammiin, a derogatory term used for people who are attractive but look as if they went through several surgeries to get a pretty face or a hot body or both.

3. Itaewon Class (2020)

Based on the webtoon of the same name, it is the first series to be produced by the film distribution company Snowbox. Based on the webtoon of the same name, it starred Park Seo-Jun, Kim Da-Mi, Yoo Jae-Myung, and Kwon Nara.

Park Seo-Jun has a similar personality to the character of the webtoon, especially the haircut. K-Drama is a story of struggles and making it in life. Mixed with a lot of drama and a bit of romance.  It even won the "Best Drama Series" at the 25th Asian Television Awards.  

2. What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (2018)

"What's Wrong With Secretary Kim" is a 2018 K-Drama starring Park Seo-Jun and Park Min-Young. It is based on the novel of the same name by Jung Kyung-Yoon which was first published in 2013 and then was serialized into a webtoon comic by KakaoPage in 2015. The show is highly talked about and so is the webtoon it is based on. The K-Drama and webtoon follow the same story.

It revolves around a stoic, arrogant, and yet handsome Vice President of a major corporation who is set to lose his dedicated and trusted secretary who was with him for the past nine years.

Once hearing of her resignation, he comes to realize how much he needs her in his life. He goes into a spiral of attraction, feelings, and jealousy when it comes to her. Along the way, they fall in love and realize they were fated all along since they were kids.

1. True Beauty (2020)

Based on the line webtoon of the same name by Yaongyi, it starred Moon Ga-Young, Hwang In-Youp, Cha Eun-Woo, and Park Yoo-Na. It centres on a high school girl, who after being bullied and discriminated against because of being perceived as ugly, masters the art of makeup to transform herself into a gorgeous person.

It was a smash hit after it was released.  The drama enthralled the audience as it had a riveting love triangle which was worth the attention. The creator expressed it was a dream come true to see her work turned into a drama.
