K-pop has gained popularity with time. Despite the language barrier, the fans seem to enjoy it. Whether it is rock pop or R&B genre, K-pop shines as it is. But as time has moved forward, the K-pop icons keep on changing. Change in charts is a natural thing that keeps on happening in the entertainment world. Today, we've rounded up the Top 10 Best K-pop Boy Groups of 2021 so far. Some gained popularity right after the debut, some had to wait a little while. But ultimately the hard work of all these Kpop Groups paid off.

10) NCT 127

NCT 127

NCT 127 (엔씨티 127) is the second sub-unit of the boy group NCT. The sub-unit consists of 10 members: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyeong, Doyoung, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Mark, Haechan.

NCT 127 debuted on July 7th, 2016 under SM Entertainment with an EP "NCT #127". Even though they didn't release any new album in 2021, they still managed to maintain their immense popularity with their previously released albums. They have sold 275.1K albums in 2021.

9) Treasure

Treasure (트레저) previously known as Treasure 13 is made from the survival show YG Treasure Box. The group consists of 12 members:  Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Mashiho, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Bang Yedam, Haruto, Doyoung, Park Jeong-woo, and So Junghwan.

The group debuted on August 7th, 2020. Treasure's latest album, The First Step: Tressure Effect, which was released on January 12, 2021, was able to do really well in charts. Between this album and also sales from their other albums, they've sold around 332.4K units so far.

8) Astro

Astro 

Astro (아스트로) is a South Korean boy group consisting of 6 members: Jinjin, Mj, Cha Eunwoo, Moonbin, Rocky, and Sanha. The group debuted on February 23rd 2016, under Fantiago.

Astro's "All Yours" album, released on April 6, was the second best selling k-pop album of that month. With sales from it and thousands of sales from older albums too, they sold about 386.3k units in 2021.

7) Ateez

Ateez (에이티즈) is an 8-member group under KQ Entertainment. The group consists of Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho. Junyoung because of his lack of training was not a part of the final lineup.

They debuted on October 24th, 2018 with the songs "Treasure" and "Pirate King". On July 8th 2019, Ateez signed with  USA record label RCA Records.

Ateez's recent release, ZERO: FEVER PART 2, is their best selling albums to date and was one of the top-selling albums in march when it is released. In 2021 so far, the group has sold around 409. 5K total units.

6) WayV

WayV

WayV (威神V, WeiShen V) is the fourth subunit of NCT based in China making WayV the first sub-unit in NCT based out of Korea. WayV is under S.M. Entertainment's China-exclusive label, label V with the sub-unit consisting of Kun, Ten, Winwin, Lucas, XiaoJun, Hendery, and Yangyang.

WayV debuted on January 17, 2019, with a single album called "The Vision". WayV's Kick Back was another bigger seller in March and even sold over 50K units in April after its release on March 10. It contributed to a large majority of their 416.2K albums sold in 2021 so far.

5) SHINee

SHINee

SHINee (샤이니) currently consists of 4 members: Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Initially, it was 5 members but Jonghyun passed away on December 18, 2017. SHINee debuted on May 25, 2008, under S.M. Entertainment.

SHINee's long-awaited comeback was a huge success, with both Don't Call Me and its repackaged version Atlantis doing incredibly well in terms of sales! For 2021, the senior group has sold around 417.8K albums.

4) Super Junior

Super Junior (슈퍼주니어) currently consists of 10 members: Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryaewook, and Kyuhyun.

Super Junior made their official debut on November 6, 2005, under S.M. Entertainment.

Another group under the same label that fans were eagerly waiting to have a comeback, and after some delays, their 10th studio album The Renaissance came out on March 16 and gave them the majority of their 455.5K sales of the year.

3) NCT

NCT 

NCT  (엔시티), an acronym for 'NEO Cultural Technology' is a new boy group concept. They are described as having an unlimited number of members. The group currently has 23 members and consists of Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Kun, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Lucas, Mark, Xiaojun, Hendery, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Yangyang, Shotaro, Sungchan, Chenle, and Jisung.

NCT promotes in different subunits. The current sub-units are NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV. They all are under S.M. Entertainment.

NCT's latest series of albums, Resonance pt 1, and Resonance pt 2, came out last year, and their sales continued heavily into 2021. So, even though they didn't actually release a new album this year, they've made 529.7k sales already.

2) ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN 

ENHYPEN (엔하이픈) is the final 7 members of the survival show I-LAND under BE: LIFT Lab, a joint label created by Big Hit Entertainment and CJ E&M Entertainment (now known as Hybe Labels).

The group consists of Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Niki. Enhypen means just like hyphen connects different words to create meaning, members of ENHYPEN will connect, discover each other, and grow together.

ENHYPEN debuted on November 20th, 2020, with their mini-album "BORDER: DAY ONE"  and title track "Given-Taken". ENHYPEN sales skyrocketed after their first release of "BORDER: CARNIVAL" released on April 26, it was the best selling album of the month with over 375k sales, and make up a large portion of their total 396.2k album sales of 2021.

Of course, it shouldn't be a surprise why BTS took first place on this list. Not just this list, they've been taking over the world. BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단) is a South Korean group that consists of 7 members: RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. They're under Hybe Labels (formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment).

BTS debuted on June 13, 2013, with the lead single "No More Dream" on the album "2 Cool 4 Skool".  Dropping the essential version of their 2020 album BE in February this year made their sales go up immensely, though some of their old albums continue to make thousands of sales monthly as well! as 2021, they've made 1.99 million total sales.
