TOP 10 BEST SELLING K-POP GIRL GROUPS 

Despite being in the pandemic, one thing that kept the k-pop fans going was the comeback of their favorite k-pop groups. The first quarter of 2021 is over, hello to the second quarter. As we have moved forward in this year, we've seen many k-pop groups making comebacks and topping the charts as they deserved. Today, we've rounded up the top 10 Bestselling girl k-pop groups of 2021 so far.

10. Weekly

Weekly (위클리) formerly known as PlayM Girls and FAVE Girls, is a seven-member girl group under Play M Entertainment consisting of Lee Soojin, Shin Jihyoon, Monday, Park Soeun, Lee Jaehee, Jihan, and Zoa.

They debuted on June 30, 2020, with their debut album 'We Are' which features the title track Tag Me (@Me). With their debut, they sold 37,990 copies of their album worldwide. It is a very big thing to sell this many copies just with a debut album.

9. Red Velvet

Red Velvet (레드벨벳) is a group that consists of 5 members: Irene, Wendy, Seulgi, Joy, and Yeri. They made their debut on August 1, 2014, under S.M. Entertainment.

The five-member girl group has been on a hiatus since their previous comeback in 2019, which they promoted with the track "Psycho". However, even without a new released song, they still managed to have big sales in 2021 with 39, 291 copies.

8. Oh My Girl

OH MY GIRL (오마이걸) consists of 7 members: Hyojoung, Mimi, YooA, Seunghee, Jiho, Binnie, and Arin. On October 30, 2017, JinE officially left the group. OH MY GIRL debuted on April 21, 2015, under WM Entertainment.

OH MY GIRL's debut was in April 2021, when they released their seventh mini-album "NONSTOP" featuring the smash hits "Nonstop" and "Dolphin". They sold 47, 178 copies in 2021 so far.

7. STAYC

STAYC (스테이씨) formerly known as HIGH UP GIRLS  is a 6 member girl group under High Up Entertainment. They consist of Sieun, Seeun, Sumin, J, Isa, and Yoon. They debuted on November 12, 2020, with their first single album "Star To A Young Culture".

Despite being a new k-pop group with a fresh debut they managed to grab good sales. STAYC sold 58,772 songs in 2021 so far.

6. WJSN

Cosmic Girls(우주소녀), also known as WJSN is a 13-members girl group under Starship Entertainment and Yuehua Entertainment. They consist of EXY, Seola, Xuan Yi, Bona, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Mei Qi, Yeoreum, Dayoung, and Yeonjung. They debuted on February 25, 2016, with their first  mini-album   “Would You Like?”

WJSN made their comeback on January 4 with their third mini-album. WJSN with the title track "I Wish" its MV was released on the same day. The group performed both"I Wish" and their b-side, "Say Yes" on Mnet's M Countdown on the 5th. The group sold 92,026 copies in 2021 so far.  

5. Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher (드림캐쳐) consists of 7 members, JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon. Each member represents a nightmare or fear. The group debuted on January 13, 2017, under Happyface Entertainment. They are currently under Dreamcatcher Company.

The group officially disbanded on November 29, 2016, after Happy Entertainment announced their re-debut under the name Dreamcatcher with the addition of two new members. They sold 129,552 copies in 2021 so far.

4. Twice

Twice (트와이스) is a girl group consisting of 9 members: Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. The band debuted on October 20, 2015, through the survival show Sixteen, under JYP Entertainment.

As of February 2020, JYPE is partnering with Republic Records to help promote TWICE Worldwide. The group made its comeback on June 9, 2021, with a mini-album "Alcohol-free" as its title track. They sold 134,751 copies in 2021 so far.

3. Blackpink

Blackpink (블랙핑크) consists of 4 members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. The band debuted on August 8, 2016, under Y.G. Entertainment. On October 23, 2018, Blackpink officially signed with the U.S. Label Interscope Records.

They didn't have any new songs released in 2021 but managed to have good sales with their previous releases. Blackpink sold 182,228 copies in 2021 so far.

2. (G)I-DLE

(G)I-DLE (아이들 / [여자]아이들) is a 5 member girl group under Cube Entertainment which currently consists of 5 members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua. Soojin left the group on the 14th of August 2021. (G)I-DLE debuted on May 2nd, 2018.

(G)I-DLE's latest comeback was on January 11, 2021. The group dropped their fourth extended play "I Burn", which debuted at number one on the Hanteo Daily Album Chart. The extended play also debuted at the top of the Gaon Retail Album Chart. This year, (G)I-DLE has reportedly sold 213,641 copies of their albums so far.

ITZY (있지) is a 5-member girl group under JYP Entertainment. They consist of  Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna. They debuted on February 11, 2019, with their first single album "Itz Different".

Sitting at number 1 on our list is JYP Entertainment's latest K-pop girl group, ITZY.  Though they only had one comeback this year, they managed to climb up the ranks. On April 30, ITZY made a comeback with their fourth extended play, "Guess Who". ITZY has reportedly sold 257,857 copies of its albums so far.
