On November 6, 10,000 players logged into the game only to realize they can’t log out. They didn’t know what was in store for them.
Kayaba suddenly appears, in his own character and begins to explain the situation to the restless players. His “bad guy” persona gave an interesting start to the anime. SAO anime probably created a tiny fear in the back of everyone’s brain, what if something like that happens in real life? Nonetheless, this anime probably inspired many to try out new games.
Kirito Kirigaya is the protagonist and being one of the early beta players of the game, got a head start in the game. His knowledge helped him get through each level with a good amount of ease. Kirito is the kind of protagonist that is expected in an Isekai anime.

In the meantime, Kirito meets Asuna Yuuki, who seems uncaring about her death, and several others along with the game who team up to survive and finish the game. Aincrad has many levels, and each one has to pass each level to reach the ultimate boss.
Apart from the serious fighting and survival mode, they are constantly in, every player in the game tries to live a “normal” life inside the game, just as they would in the real world. It became their new normal.
