The anime will be following Girls’ Frontline main game’s story and is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth in the year 2060. After a military accident resulted in the spread of a deadly disease, and a Nuclear War, Earth’s population is dwindling. In order to revive humanity and help humans to grow on uninhabitable earth, the use of androids has become a part of everyday life. But since we can’t have nice things, an AI started to lose control and began destroying humans. Disposable Tactical Dolls, also known as T-Dolls, were deployed to combat the new threat. And in the game, we start as a fresh PMS Commander, whose job is to lead the T-Dolls against the hostile AI.

Two short ONA series were previously released in 2019, and then again in 2020 by BigFireBird Animation. But this time, Girl’s Frontline is getting proper anime-style animation from Asahi Productions, who are responsible for making masterpieces like Medaka Box, Izetta The Last Witch, etc.

Girl’s Frontline Anime will start premiering in January 2022, along with the rest of the Winter 2022 Anime Lineup.
