Fall 2021 has blessed us anime fans with some of the interesting anime series this year. The next anime on the fall list is Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi or My Senpai is Annoying. Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi is one of the best anime of 2021 hands down.
If you like a slice of life, comedy and sizzle of romance, My Senpai is Annoying is perfect for you.
Well, of course, you’re not a fan of the age difference or senpai-kouhai relationship, feel free to skip this anime, however, this anime is a hidden gem that fans are missing out on.
To be honest, anime with an age difference is kinda not my thing, but Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi is kinda different.
The anime is enjoyable and the characters are quite enjoyable. Especially, Futaba Igarashi and Harumi Takeda.
Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi shows the story of a 23-year-old lady (Igarashi Futaba) who’s an office worker.
Due to her short stature, she is often treated like a kid and people look down on her.
Futaba’s senpai at work is Takeda Harumi, a middle-aged man, although his age is never mentioned.
Takeda refers to himself as a middle-aged man. He cares about Igarashi and always looks out for her.
Workplace Support Gang
The people at Igarashi and Takeda’s workplace are quite supportive of their kouhai-senpai relationship.
The most supportive of secret shippers would be Sakurai Touko, her coworker and the most popular girl in the office.
The next person would be the main boss or Buchou. When Buchou and Takeda had plans to each lunch together, Igarashi was a bit bummed about not going to eat together.
Realising the situation, Buchou nicely backed about (very subtle) and made an excuse for a different lunch plan. Igarashi and Takeda went to have their lunch together.
Another time when Takeda was done with work, Buchou asked him not to return to the office. This way he had time to meet Igarashi halfway after work and they went to eat again.
When Takeda was sick, Sakurai pushed Igarashi to visit Takeda and nurse him back to health as repaying the favour.
Sakurai Touko and Kazama Souta
Sakurai Touko is quite popular at their workplace. Many of her coworkers hope to date her. However, Touko Sakurai is not interested in anyone.
When one day a coworker was bluntly harassing Sakurai, Kazuma Souta literally saved her.
He saved her from the second-hand and peer pressure situation without expecting anything back.
People at work want to have a meal with Sakurai, but Sakurai asked Kazuma out for a meal!
This couple is one of the favorites in Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi. Their relationship dynamic is too good.
Both of them have an amicable relationship with Igarashi and Takeda. On Valentine’s day, Sakurai gave Kazuma a chocolate bar.
Igarashi Futaba and Takeda Harumi
Takeda Harumi is an honest and free-spirited soul. Watching the Igarashi-Takeda duo is so refreshing; their interaction is soul healing and amusing.
Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi is one of the anime that is worth waiting for every week. Takeda is always concerned about Futaba.
As a senpai, he always looks out for her. When Futaba was sick, Harumi visited her and cooked her a meal. When Takeda fell sick, although reluctant, Futaba visited him and cooked for him.
Is there a Spark Between Futaba and Harumi?
When Futuba was drunk, she asked Harumi how he felt towards her. Harumi replied that he wanted to take care of her and if he was married, she would be like a child to him.
A drunk Futaba replied whey can’t she be the wife? Having said it, Futaba was embarrassed.
There is a spark between Futaba and Harumi and it’s more than that of a Kouhai-Senpai relationship.
When Futuba was sick, Harumi wasn’t aware because he didn’t have a smartphone. Later he got himself a smartphone so that he can track her or talk to her.
It was cute that Takeda Harumi was unable to use the mobile and asked Kazuma for help so that he can text Igarashi Futaba. He sent a hello after trying for five minutes.
Futaba gave him a tie as a Christmas gift. The simplistic gullible Takeda wanted to frame it away for life and didn’t want to get it dirty.
This duo is hilarious, amusing and you can’t stop smiling when watching the interaction between Futaba and Harumi. Hope this ship sails soon!
