Rurouni Kenshin needs no introduction. The series made fans fall immensely in love with the Rurouni Kenshin series and our beloved Battosai or Kenshin. The wandering Rurouni is back again with Rurouni Kenshin: The Final. The movie aired in Japanese theatres on 23 April 2021.

Satoh Takeru reprises his role as Kenshin Himura. There’s a new cast that includes Mackenyu as Enishi Yukishiro, the vengeful brother-in-law of Kenshin.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final | Plot

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final opens up with a bang. Enishi Yukishiro (Maceknyu) and Goro Fujita (Yosuke Eguchi) had their first encounter on a train and Enishi makes the Shinsengumi on their knees.

The vengeance-seeking Enichi ensures chaos and mayhem and has a confrontation with Goro, but he quickly gives up.

Enishi was the scene-stealer in the opening scene of the movie. Moments later we see Kenshin and the gang witnessing a new bridal procession and everyone starts teasing a shy Kaoru.

Koaru is smitten with Kenshin, and hopelessly in love with him, while Innocent Kenshin denies his feelings toward Koaru. They make an amazing duo!

The movie opens with Enishi and the evil gang blasting off Kenshin’s favorite restaurant and leaving a note of vengeance “Man Judges” for Kenshin.

Goro asks Kenshin about Enishi only to be met by silence.

Enishi and his evil cronies wreak havoc in Japan and start attacking people close to Kenshin. Enishi was driven mad to the point of unable to separate reality. Kenshin and Enishi cross paths and he shook the literal core of Kenshin.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final Movie revolves around Enishi’s revenge on Kenshin as he holds him responsible for her sister’s death. Tomoe, Enishi’s sister, and Kenshin’s wife died because of Kenshin.

But plot twist, Tomoe, fell in love with Kenshin and sacrifices her life to protect Kenshin.  The cinematography and visuals of the movie were really aesthetic and pleasing.

There was a scene when Kenshin was fighting alone to the point of exhaustion, enters Shinsensungumi with Goro and Miso with their forces to aid Kenshin.

Goro and Misao were the scene stealers in the second half of the movie. Kudos to the action director and team for high-quality action scenes in the movie.

The final confrontation between Kenshin and Enishi was totally worth it!

Satoh Takeru has reprised his role as Kenshin Himura. A new addition to the cast as Mackenyu plays the role of Enishi Yukishiro.

Emi Takei, Yosuke Eguchi, Munetaka Aoki and Yu Aoi are back in the movie as well, reprising their roles. A brief appearance from Tao Tsuchiya (Misao), Yusuke Iseya (Shinimori) and Ryunosuke Kamiki (Soujiro) made the movie even more amazing.

It was good to see the character of Soujiro back and redeem his former self. Soujiro and Kenshin fighting side by side was one of the best scenes in the movie in terms of action.

Who is the villain in Rurouni Kenshin final?

man with grey hair staring at his enemy

Enishi Yukishiro played by Mackenyu is the antagonist and villain in Rurouni Kenshin: The final. He was unhappy with Kenshin and thought that he had robbed her sister of happiness.

He witnessed Kenshin stabbing her sister Tomoe but doesn’t know the real truth. He hated Kenshin because her sister Tomoe fell in love with Kenshin.

It feels like Kenshin has a Fanclub led by Enishi and his cronies. Everyone in the movie kept seeking the Battosai, without even meeting him.

Well again, who wouldn’t be enamored by the cute Battosai. Even Soujiro was back in action who decided to follows his Rurouni ways.

Who gave Kenshin his scar?

The first scar was given by Akira who was Tomoe’s fiance. The second scar was inflicted by Tomoe when she was dying.

Kenshin killed Tomoe’s fiance during the suppression and somehow ended up marrying Tomoe.
