Rurouni Kenshin: The Final is Available on Netflix!

Fans have a new reason to rejoice on 18th June 2021. If you’re wondering why the reason is very simple. Maybe, the repeated cries have finally reached the deaf ears of Japan and possibly Warner Bros.  Rurouni Kenshin: The Final released in theatres in Japan on 23rd April 2021 and it feels like a good surprise gift from Japan. Netflix on 18th June 2021 released Rurouni Kenshin: The Final and fans can now legally watch and stream the movie.  The fans of the movie franchise had to wait 6 years for the new movie as the last movie Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends was released in 2014.    Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning was slated to release in Japan on 4th June 2021.

For the fans who are familiar with movies and those who are not here’s a summary. Rurouni Kenshin series is based on the manga of the same name written by Nobuhiro Watsuki in the weekly Shonen Jump. The story revolves around Kenshin Himura who is a legendary and deadly swordsman. Himura, after the Meiji restoration, has stopped killing and disappeared from the assassin world and is now living a quiet life, or at least he tried to.  Somehow his path intertwines with Kaoro Kamiya who runs a swordsman school in the village. After wandering, he wishes to live life to atone for his previous actions. Himura was still haunted by his past and slowly the movies develop and show his actions and path to redemption.

There are previous 3 installments in the movie and watching them is definitely a must. Something about the Rurouni movies is just spectacular and amazing. The music score is so good and matches well with the action scenes. This movie is on an entirely different level. The movie is highly rated and immensely popular.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final is Available on Netflix and ofcourse, unless you literally live in Narnia, where either Netflix is banned or that region doesn’t have the movie on Netflix, take a moment of silence, and cry your heart out. The max you can do is quietly wait, till the movie is available in your region. The previous movies are unfortunately not available on Netflix, so we can hope and pray that Netflix makes them available.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final | Casts

Satoh Takeru is back as Kenshin Himura and There’s a new addition to the cast. Mackenyu plays the antagonist in this ambitious project. Mackenyu plays the role of Enishi Yukishiro, Kenshin’s ex-brother-in-law, who has come back for revenge. The other main casts include Emi Takei reprising her role as Kaoru Kamiya, Yosuke Eguchi as Goro Fujita, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara, and Yu Aoi as Megumi Takani. This movie feels like it’s coming to an end soon. It will be a heartbreaking and a bit sad moment for fans. Satoh Takeru and Mackenyu look so visually appealing. It will be interesting to see both my favorite Japanese actors together in the same fans. This feels like a win-win situation for fans of Takeru & Mackenyu.

What’s the correct order to watch the movie?

This is something many fans have pondered for a long time. Since there are 5 movies, and 4 of them are now released, fans might even get confused. But fret now here’s the correct order to watch the series.

  • Rurouni Kenshin released in 2012 is the first part of the series.
  • Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno or Rurouni Kenshin Kyoto Taika Hen released in 2014 is the second part of the movie.
  • Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends or Rurouni Kenshin Densetsu no Saigo Hen, released in 2014 is the third part of the movie.
  • Rurouni Kenshin: The Final or Rurouni Kenshin Saishusho The Final which is released in 2021 is the fourth part of the franchise, which is luckily available on Netflix.
  • The last part Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning or Rurouni Kenshin Saishusho The Beginning released on 4th June 2021, and is not available anywhere unless you live in Japan, and it’s airing in theatres near you!

This is the correct order to watch. Have fun binging this phenomenal masterpiece of a movie if you haven’t watched it yet! Satoh Takeru is the definition of cute in this movie. This role is quite different from all his previous work, and without a doubt, it’s definitely the best acting of his career. Fans are super excited to see how this movie pans out!
