One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 8  Review | 'The Deep Sea King'

The previous episode closed on an ominous note, wonder what danger is brewing. One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 8 title is “The Deep Sea King.”  Episode 8 was phenomenal. One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 8 revolves around the Seafolk creatures and the Sea King. The Deep Sea King declares war against J-city. Let’s review One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 8 and find out what Saitama & Genos will do.

Introduction

One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 8 opens with a sea monster terrorizing people and declaring war against them. Mumen rider comes to the aid of the people but before he reaches Saitama is defeats the monster. He arrives at the scene where he finds the monster as dead meat and people talking about Saitama.  

Saitama starts getting famous as the hero who defeats his opponent with one punch. Unfortunately, negative rumors start circulating about Saitama that he steals others’ credit. Mumen rider looks up Saitama on the internet to find mixed reviews about him.

Meanwhile, the Seafolk clan starts emerging from the sea and attacks people.  Class A hero Stinger appears for the rescue. On the other hand, Genos informs Saitama that Saitama moved up in 2nd rank in class-C. Genos gets a call to aid at J-city. Stinger single-handedly fights against the creatures and defeats them but the Sea King crushes him.

Mumen rider, Genos, and Saitama rush out to reach J-city. Mumen rider meets other heroes on his way, but they decide to evacuate from the city. Another hero Lightning Max gets caught by the Sea King.  The Sea King and Lightning Max fight, but only to taste defeat.

The arrival of A New Hero?!

A new character arrives. He saves Lightning Max. Puri-Puri Prisoner is an S-class hero. Sonic escapes prison with Puri-Puri Prisoner. The modern ninja is back in action with the S-class hero!  Sonic and  Puri-Puri Prisoner fight against the Sea King, but Sea King was too powerful.

One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 9 “Unyielding Justice” concludes the chapter of the Sea King.

Genos scouts the area for the potential threat and realizes he has no way to contact Saitama. After a challenging fight with the deep Sea King, Puri-Puri Prisoner gets knocked out leaving Sonic.

The Sea King and Sonic get into a deadly fight and it looks like Sonic was leading. Sonic was in neck-to-neck with the Sea King. Sonic was fast and strong and with his quick reflexes, he was gaining an upper hand.  

It starts raining which gives the Sea King advantage over sonic. He unleashes his true power which forces Sonic to retreat for the time being.

Amai Mask makes a cameo appearance in Episode 8. On his way to escape, The modern Ninja meets the Lone Cyborg. Sonic warns Genos about the deep Sea King and how powerful he is.

Mumen rider and Saitama meet on their way to J-city. The Sea King attacks the evacuation shelter. Saitama gets off after spotting a running Sonic while Mumen rider receives a call for aid from the Hero Association. Mumen rider accidentally drops his phone which Saitama picks up later.

The HQ informs Saitama about the Sea King attacking the evacuation shelter. Saitama heads off to shelter to confront the Sea King. Some other heroes along with Snek confront the monster but only to taste defeat. Mumen rider speeds up to reach the shelter.

Conclusion

One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 8 ends with Saitama getting serious to face the deep Sea King. Episode 8 didn’t have any post-credit scene which was a little disappointing, but this was an intense episode. Looking forward to the next episode!
