One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 2 titled “The Lone Cyborg” introduces a new character Genos. I was looking forward to One Punch Man Episode 2 because of Genos. In the previous episode, we get a sneak-peak at Genos after the credits. As every episode progresses, my hopes are also increasing. Here’s my attempt to review One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 2.
One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 2 | Introduction
One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 2 starts with the news about a deadly mosquito outbreak. The news warned people to stay indoors and flee if they see any scourge approaching. Saitama gets busy chasing a mosquito. It’s funny to see a mosquito defeat Saitama! Meanwhile, the swarm approached the city while Saitama was busy with the mosquito.
One Punch Man | Episode 2 The Lone Cyborg
As the emergency evacuation warning was going on guess who makes an appearance. Yes, Genos makes his entry. Finally, the moment I was waiting for. Some random dude decides to ignore the warning and rob the stores. Well, Karma has it coming, the mosquitoes devour him in seconds. This is why heed the emergency and stay home during a pandemic!
Another Hideous Villain | Genos vs Mosquito Girl
The number of villains in One Punch Man Season 1 is surely skyrocketing. So it turns out the outbreak was because of the Mosquito girl whose motives remain unknown as of now. Genos observes the Mosquito girl and arrives at a conclusion. Episode 2 is interesting for sure. She attacks Genos but surprise! Miss villain! Genos send her packing, in this case, roasted! Some action-packed fights and classical chase sequence as she dismembers Genos.
Saitama Where Art Thou?
Saitama was busy with the mosquito. Damn talk about priorities because Saitama has them all sorted! It was funny to see Saitama chasing the poor insect with a mosquito spray!
The Destined Meeting | Saitama & Genos
Yes, the scene I’m sure everyone is waiting for. Saitama meets Genos while chasing the mosquito. Genos asks Saitama to leave but before they could do so, the swarm attacks them. As if they were going down so easily. Genos did his research well. Genos throws some taunts at the Mosquito girl. She interrupts them and starts attacking. This is what you call when people go crazy. She’s gonna go down soon.
The fight continues and in a last-ditch effort, Genos self-destructs to annihilate her but Saitama kills her. Genos gets interested in Saitama and asks him to be his apprentice. Genos explains his backstory and Saitama gets impatient. He tells him to shorter it in 20 words or less.
The New Mysterious Character?
So it turns out that the Mosquito girl was a prototype created by this new mysterious character. He expresses interest in Saitama and invites him to ‘The House of Evolution.” They send other creatures to capture Saitama, but get their butts kicked! Everyone dies except for the gorilla who answers all their questions.
One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 2 | Conclusion
Saitama really makes you laugh. His presence is soothing and puzzling. Saitama leaves you wondering because his typical reactions are different than other characters. Genos worrying about Saitama was priceless. He had a confused expression like everyone else at that point. It was funny to see Genos outright say about Saitama’s baldness. One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 2 ends with the gorilla agreeing to tell them everything. Episode The Lone Cyborg was enjoyable and exciting.
