One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. This Japanese manga series has won many awards and fame for its character presentation and storylines and also for the different genres in the manga. One Piece is so much more than just adventures and fantasy. A series without any deviation from genres would be a bit boring and it also wouldn’t be able to attract a large group of fans.
I love the adventurous and the fantasy part of the manga series. But if we look at the smaller genres that show up in various arcs and different characters really make the manga interesting. If you have seen the manga series, you would be aware that there was something cooking up between Hancock and Luffy. Is Hancock in love with Luffy? Does Luffy feel the same way towards her? Or the foremost question is, will they end up together?
Who is Boa Hancock?
Boa Hancock is the captain of the Kuja Pirates and was the only female in Warlord Of The Sea before the organization’s disbandment. She was considered the most beautiful woman in the world and has a well-proportioned figure. Hancock is a very complex woman. At first, she appears to be selfish, spoiled, and used to having her own ways.
She was first mentioned by the Risky Brothers at the end of the Thriller Bark Arc when comparing her beauty with the beauty of a mermaid. She is also known as the “Snake Princess” of the Amazon Lily. She also rules over the Kuja tribe with her two sisters.
She is the main antagonist of the Amazon Lily Arc before befriending and falling in love with Monkey D. Luffy. She becomes his ally in the rest of the Summit War Saga, also in the Return to Sabaody Arc.
Is Boa Hancock in love with Luffy?
Hancock saw Luffy as a man who is very immune to her charms. She also thought at first that Luffy was the same as all the men in the world, selfish and arrogant but she was proven wrong and was moved by his act of selflessness. Soon after this, he became her love interest. She quickly befriended him when he was fighting and covered her sister's back as nobody could see the dragon’s slave mark on her back.
Because of many such instances in the manga series she got to know about Luffy’s bravery and how selfless and kind he was. Hancock has fallen in love with Luffy, causing her to have Lovesickness which was nearly the cause of the deaths of all the Empresses as it's shown that they died because they used to suppress their feelings and didn't confront the people they are in love with. However, Hancock will survive by going with Luffy as it's seen that Hancock told him her feelings.
Will Hancock and Luffy end up together?
We see in the manga series that Hancock is very kind and loyal towards Luffy as despite Luffy rejecting her Marriage proposal, and of him not having the same feelings of marriage towards her as he first needs to complete his goal. But we also see that he does have a soft corner for her as he was very protective towards her.
Also respected her past and didn’t tell anyone about the slave mark on her body. Maybe he will marry her after completing his goals, just like Gold D. Roger did. As far as the manga has shown Luffy and Hancock aren’t together. Anything can happen by the end of the manga series. Maybe they will pair up together or maybe they aren’t really meant for each other.
