Trafalgar Law is the infamous “Surgeon of Death” in One Piece.

He is also the captain and doctor of the Heart Pirates from North Blue.

Did I mention his full name is Trafalgar D. Water Law?

He is a part of the rookie pirate called Worst Generation as well as a former Shichibukai.

Trafalgar Law’s bounty after time skip is 500,000,000 Berries.

In the Japanese version of the anime, his voice actor is Hiroshi Kamiya and, the English version is Matthew Mercer.

Appearance

Trafalgar Law is of slim build with a height of 191cm. He has short dark hair which is mostly obscured by his fur hat.

He has many tribal-style tattoos on his arms with DEATH spelled on the back of each finger.

Law also has a tribal-style heart tattoo with his symbol Jolly Roger on it, on his chest.

His back is as well tattooed with Jolly Roger and his shoulders with heart tattoos.

Personality

Trafalgar Law mostly seems laid back and is nearly always calmly smiling. Unlike after time skip where he is rarely seen smiling.

He hates being bossed around. However, he knows an alliance with his rivals is good when he sees his crew in pinch.

Trafalgar Law speaks in a politely sarcastic manner. He also has a reckless attitude.

The World Government has labeled him as a high threat especially after he formed an alliance with the Straw-hat Crew.

The Surgeon of Death shows his competitive side when he gets into a childish argument with Kid and Luffy.

Trafalgar Law's Abilities and Powers

Trafalgar Law is a fearsome pirate that even many ruthless marines fear.

Law, in order to gain the position of Shichibukai, cuts out the hearts of one hundred pirates and sent them to the World Government.

Devil Fruit

Trafalgar Law is the user of the fruit called “Ope Ope no Mi”.

The power received from the fruit allows Law to create a spherical territory of light blue aura.

This spherical territory is referred to as the “operating room”.

Inside this area, he is capable of separating and spatially displacing anything, even himself.

He uses this room to operate on anything.

Law controls everything and everyone inside this room and thus is capable of causing mass havoc.

He can use the area for teleportation as well.

Trafalgar Law has mastered his power to the extent that he can cut through someone who has imbued their body with Haki.

However, there are certain limitations to his power.

To concentrate the effect upon his victim he requires making gestures with his hand.

This leaves him open for attack allowing any strong and fast opponent.

Additionally, the more he uses his power his strength depletes.

Medical Abilities

Trafalgar Law’s parents are shown to have been doctors and were likewise training him as a child.

Law is famous by the name “Surgeon of Death” due to his surgical skill.

He demonstrates his skills as a doctor when he treats and brings both Luffy and Jinbei back to health after they barely escaped Akainu.

Law also finds a cure for the children during the Punk Hazard Arc.

Trafalgar Law's Weakness

  • Just like all the Devil Fruit users, Trafalgar Law too can’t swim.
  • Again like any other Devil Fruit users, Law is vulnerable against Seastone.

Trafalgar Law is one of the central alliances of the Straw hat Pirates.

He too has the “will of D” and is in search for the meaning of D.
