One K-drama which was in limelight these days was JTBC's Nevertheless. Nevertheless is an ongoing South Korean television series starring Han So-Hee, Song-Kang, and Chae Jong-Hyeop.
It is based on a popular webtoon of the same name which was first published on Naver webtoons. The story revolves around two people who are attracted to each other but are sceptical about the love from their past experiences.
It premiered on June 19, 2021, on JTBC and airs every Saturday at 23:00 KST. Each episode is released on Netflix in South Korea and then internationally after its broadcast.
The K-drama is kind of different from what is shown in other K-dramas. It is not any typical love story having a perfect romance instead it gives us a view of a new kind of relationship. It is refreshing to see something not so perfect in K-dramas. Where a lot of K-dramas focus on being perfect, it highlights the toxic parts of the love story makes it interesting. The drama is rated 19+ in South Korea.
Is Na-Bi and Park Jae-On Toxic?
Well, it is not even a question. It was very clear from the first episode that they both are toxic to each other. Na-Bi likes him but she knows Jae-On isn't someone who likes to commit. Na-Bi wants to date but is afraid because of her past experience in love.
Her ex-boyfriend cheated on her which made it hard for her to trust in love. But when she met Jae-On she felt a sudden spark with him. She wants to change their relationship status to something more meaningful, but she knows Jae-On will not be ready for it.
Who is Young Do-Hyeok?
Young Do-Hyeok is Na-Bi's childhood friend. He believes that Na-Bi is his first love. He runs a popular show on Youtube. Where Jae-On is flirtatious, Do-Hyeok is a whole gentleman. He cares for Na-Bi and respects her, moreover, he knows what he wants and makes her happy.
Who Is Na-Bi Going To Choose?
The K-drama is based on a webtoon based on the same name. Usually, the K-dramas which are based on webtoons have a similar ending. If you're someone who has already read the webtoon, you might know how it ends.
Most fans want Na-Bi to choose Do-Hyeok and not Jae-On. Do-Hyeok's effort and the way he loves and cares for her really stand out. She is way more comfortable with Do-Hyeok than with Jae-On. Also, Jae-On isn't clear about his feelings which is somewhat confusing not just for Na-bi but also for the viewers.
Let's hope Na-Bi chooses Do-Hyeok.
