Who is Gojo Satoru’s Love Interest?

Satoru Gojo, the man, the myth, the legend! All anime boys have a degree of charm to them that appeals to *casual* anime viewers such as myself.

However, only a few chosen, highly refined 2D men get to have the title of "hot anime men" (I am using a censored version of the more popular term used to refer to this certain kind of attractive anime men.)

Gojo Satoru, aside from being the strongest and in my objectively right opinion, the coolest in-universe Jujutsu Kaisen, also happens to be very attractive.

Naturally, fans of the show can’t help but speculate about his romantic interests.

Unfortunately, in season 1 of the show, the only remotely romantic scene involving Gojo was him flirting with Jogo right before he dismembered Jogo’s head off his trunk.

However, as the show progresses, Gojo has some interesting interactions with certain characters.

Does Gojo Like Utahime?

Utahime Iori is a semi-grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer and student supervisor at Kyoto Jujutsu High.

Gojo and Utahime have known each other since their high school years.

Gojo frequently teases Utahime, which eventually gets on her nerves.

Utahime is used to this teasing because of their long relationship, and even though she gets agitated, they manage to get along when they're in action.

Fans of the show seem to like the constant bickering between these polar opposites.

Utahime keeps insisting she must be respected by Gojo since she’s the senior one amongst them.

However, Gojo’s inability to take anything seriously leads to him completely ignoring this.

In fact, Gojo is Utahime’s constant source of stress whenever the two are in proximity.

The show or the manga doesn’t give any indications that there might be some underlying romantic tension between the two so far.

However, when has this ever stopped the enthusiastic shippers of any fandom from speculating or imagining two characters' romantic futures?

Does Gojo like Miwa?

Kasumi Miwa is a second-year at Kyoto Jujutsu High.

Miwa is a sweet, hardworking girl who isn't as cynical as some of her classmates.

She's much more reserved, down-to-earth, and behaves pretty much like an average normal human being.

Her likable personality quickly made her a fan favorite.

Miwa and Gojo have more of a fan-celebrity relationship. In episode 5 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Miwa internally fangirls over Gojo and later even asks for a selfie together.

In episode 15’s Jujutsu Stroll, while other characters are asked "What kind of person is your type?", Gojo describes a “girl who seemed nice” to Utahime whom she guesses to be Miwa.

However, as fans quickly pointed out Gojo was simply describing the girl who asked him for a selfie, probably to gloat in front of Utahime.

Moreover, the ship between Miwa and Gojo isn’t just nonsensical but also highly inappropriate and disturbing since Miwa is a high school kid and Gojo is an adult in his very late 20s!

If you’re a Miwa x Gojo shipper, I’m sorry about your disappointment but also, get some help.

Who Is Gojo Satoru In Love With?

Minor spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Manga

The short answer is, no one. The longer answer is, at the time of writing this article, Gojo’s past arc and the Shibuya Arc have been completed by Gege Akutami.

The characters in the manga and Gojo himself seem to be aware of how attractive he is.

However, there aren’t any romantic ties explored with any of the characters, new or old.

Gojo seems to be a master of either getting people to fangirl over him or causing them severe migraines by getting on their nerves.

In an interview earlier this year Gege Akutami was asked about Gojo’s love life. The author replied he couldn’t imagine Gojo being sincere to a woman. So there you have it, Gojo is in love with no one, except maybe himself.

In fact, Jujutsu Kaisen on whole is kept mostly devoid of any sort of romantic entanglements.

Particularly Gojo isn’t written as a character with a romantic storyline as part of his arc at any point of the story until now.

That is unless Akutami Sensei changes his mind. This seems highly unlikely as he announced that 60-70% of the story is already complete and the manga might end by the year 2023.

However, if you know anything about fandoms, you know no amount of clarification on the part of the author has ever swayed a hardcore shipper from their path.

Fans continue to ship imaginary romantic pairings between Gojo x Nanami, Gojo x Geto, and Gojo x Utahime. As it goes with every single piece of fictional media, writers gonna write, and fandoms gonna ship.
