The power systems and techniques used by individuals on the show can be confusing at times.
Here’s us explaining (or trying to explain) how the Reverse Cursed Technique works.
We’ll also be enlisting the characters who can use Reverse Cursed Technique as it is a rarity in the Jujutsu Kaisen Universe.
What Is The Reverse Cursed Technique
A reverse cursed technique converts negative energy into positive energy by multiplying two sources of cursed energy by one another.
This is basically two negatives making a net positive.
As a result, destructive energy transforms into creative energy, and negative energy transforms into positive energy.
Even though it sounds fairly simple, producing reverse cursed energy is extremely complex and difficult for most Jujutsu sorcerers.
Reverse cursed energy can be used for a variety of purposes, the most common of which is healing.
Cursed energy is derived from negative emotions that are unsuitable for healing living things so healers are rare in the Jujutsu world.
Jujutsu sorcerers primarily use reverse cursed energy to regenerate new flesh in order to heal human bodies.
While very few sorcerers are capable of using a reverse cursed technique, even fewer use it to heal people other than themselves.
The following section will contain minor spoilers from the manga.
Users Of Reverse Cursed Technique
1. Shoko Ieri
Shoko Ieiri is one of the few people who can heal others using a reverse cursed technique.
She became the school doctor due to her ability to use a reverse-cursed technique and her medical knowledge.
Jujutsu High regards her as extremely valuable.
However, even though Shoko is an expert in using reversed cursed energy, she has never been able to explain how it works to others.
2. Satoru Gojo
Gojo’s Cursed Technique Reversal: Red is a Reverse Cursed Technique.
After nearly being killed by Toji Fushiguro, Satoru tapped into the core of cursed energy and awakened the true Limitless powers.
This enabled him to use a reverse cursed technique for the first time, bringing himself back from the brink of death.
As a third-year student, Satoru honed his Limitless skills and learned to use a reversed cursed technique that ran continuously through his body.
This helped him preserve his brain while his technique was active.
3. Ryomen Sukuna
Sukuna, unlike most cursed spirits, can use a Reverse Cursed Technique.
Because he is incarnated in Yuji's human body, he uses reversed cursed energy to restore it very often during battles.
During episode 6, Sukuna removed Yuji's heart and used his ability to heal as leverage to force him to make a Binding Vow.
He healed Yuji's heart and brought him back from the dead after they agreed on the terms of their Vow.
During the Junpei arc, Mahito mentioned that a reversed cursed technique could return a soul's shape to normal and thus remove the effects of Idle Transfiguration.
4. Yuta Okkotsu
For non-manga readers, Yuta Okkotsu is a third-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High and the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen: 0.
Because of Rika's (a vengeful spirit) massive amounts of cursed energy and her ability to unconditionally copy techniques, Yuta Okkotsu learned to use a reverse cursed technique very early on as a jujutsu sorcerer.
Yuta first used it to heal Maki, Toge, and Panda all at once after Suguru Geto injured them.
Even someone like Suguru Geto was blown away by Yuta's ability to use a reversed cursed technique.
5. Uraume
Uraume is a mysterious antagonist in Jujutsu Kaisen with unknown gender and alignments.
However, they seem to be extremely skilled as a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Uraume can heal themselves using a reverse cursed technique.
They used a reverse cursed technique to instantly repair the hole in their hand after being shot through the hand by Choso's Piercing Blood.
