With 24 episodes in, Jujutsu Kaisen has taken the anime world by surprise with its rising popularity. The anime shows great promise in terms of world-building and character development already. Fans are fawning with adoration over many of the show’s secondary characters. With that, let's look at some of Jujutsu Kaisen characters that could have their own spin-offs.
1. Toge Inumaki
A second year at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical college, Toge Inumaki is a cursed speech user. He can imbue his speech with cursed energy forcing its hearers to obey his words. That is one scary power. Indeed, Inumaki is acutely aware of the extent and scope of his powers.
The nature of his abilities forces him to limit his vocabulary to rice-ball ingredients. I don’t think we need to explain how unique and adorable this makes him a character.
The fans certainly seem to like this quite peculiar yet somewhat intimidating 2nd-year student. A spinoff showing how Inumaki came to control his unique abilities while trying to make friends would surely be very interesting.
2. Maki Zenin
A headstrong, straightforward sorcerer with little to no cursed energy, Maki Zenin has all the makings of a shonen protagonist. In a world of sorcerers with cursed energy as their source of power, Maki gets by with her own superhuman strength and agility, and expertise in using cursed weapons.
Though born into an influential sorcerer family, Maki and her twin sister Mai were put down by their own family which has had a lineage of patriarchs.
Instead of accepting this fate like her twin, Maki broke ties with her own family and swore to become a capable enough sorcerer to break the patriarchal traditions of her clan and become its leader.
She’s currently a second-year student at Tokyo along with Inumaki and is just as popular amongst the viewers. Maki’s journey has all the right ingredients to make for a great shonen anime on its own. We might get to see more of Maki and Panda Senpai’s adorable dynamics as an added bonus.
3. Megumi Fushiguro
One of the secondary protagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen, Megumi Fushiguro is a first-year sorcerer at Tokyo Metropolitan. He is friends with Itadori Yuji and Nobara Kugisaki. He is a descendent of the Zenin clan.
Very little is known about Megumi as a character. We know his ties from the Zenin clan are cut off. The reason is not known as of yet. Tragic family history is also hinted at from time to time.
The show’s primary antagonist Sukuna seems to show special interest in Megumi as well, though I doubt it’s because of Megumi’s stoic yet charming appearance as the fandom would like to believe.
With a calm collected demeanor and an inner desire to protect people, Megumi has all the features of a compelling primary protagonist. His complex tragic past and a future filled with ominous potential can have a lot to be explored in a spin-off.
4. Satoru Goju
Known as the strongest sorcerer of the series, Satoru Goju is a man of many faces and skills. This goofy sensei-type character is one of the most popular Jujutsu Kaisen characters. His personality and abilities seem to compliment each other in terms of being complex. His ability to manipulate space in a unique way is as terrifying as it is visually appealing.
Always nonchalant and playful with his companions, Gojo can be ruthless when it comes to facing his enemies. His formidable strength, agility, and tactical brilliance are a force to be reckoned with.
His backstory hasn’t been explored much yet in the anime, but considering it is Gojo Saturo we are speaking of, it will be far from disappointing. A prequel with him as the primary protagonist is sure to be funny given his animated personality.
