Re: Zero- Starting Life in Another World is based on a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shin'ichir Tsukamoto.
The plot revolves around Subaru Natsuki, a hikikomori who is unexpectedly transported to another world on his way home from the convenience store.
While this isn’t a unique premise in any way, Re: Zero quickly grew on its viewers because of its well-written characters.

We’ve recommended the Director’s cut as it has smoother animation and some added scenes. You can very well watch the original version.
The OVA, Memory Snow should ideally be watched between episodes 11 and 12 if you’re watching the original version or between episodes 5 and 6 of the director’s cut.
You can completely skip the spin-off and Special as they are not related to the plot, or watch them if you want to.
We can’t tell you what to do, you’re your own man/woman/non-binary person. Happy watching!
