After the 2.1 update in Genshin, fishing has become an important aspect of the game. There are a wide variety of fish available to catch throughout the Tevyat, available in each region. Players can fish in specific locations where water ripples appear with an interaction notice. Once successfully caught there’s several options in game for its usage. Here’s everything you need to know about fishing.
How to unlock Fishing

In order to start fishing, you need to accept and complete the world quest “Exploding Population”. This quest will appear automatically and if it does not then you need to unlock the serenitea teapot.
How to get Fishing Rod in Genshin Impact

To get a fishing rod in Genshin Impact, players must be above adventure rank 30 or above, and have completed Ritou escape plan and unlocked Serenitea pot.
The quest “Exploding population” will lead you to a fisherman outside Mondstadt City. He will teach you all the basics of fishing and reward a fishing rod on completing the quest.
Fishing System : How to fish in Genshin Impact
- Cast the rod by holding the button to aim where the bait will land
- Release the button to use the fishing rod
- When the fish is on the hook, tap the Raise Hook Button
- Hold and release the Fish Button to stay on the Ideal Tension Zone
Avoid Scaring the Fish

Players must be careful where to place or cast the bait using the fishing rod so that they won't scare the fish away.
Control the Tension Of Your Line

Once the player gets a bite, be attentive as you need to time your reaction and control the tension of the I-shaped mark on the tab to catch the fish.
Choose The Right Bait

Fishes are attracted to different kinds of bait. You have to be mindful of the species inhabiting the spot .
Position your hook

Landing your hook too far from the fish will decrease your chances of catching a fish. However, if you land it too close, it will startle the fish which will make them flee.
Fishing System : Respawn time of fishes
Respawn after 3 days
We confirmed that fishes respawn after 3 days. 3 Days is real life time and you cannot have fishes back even if you progress in-game time by the time control option.
Different Fishes May Appear Depending On In-Game Time
Although changing in-game time does not have fishes appear, there might be a different fish pool depending on in-game time. Fishing spots have fishes that spawn only during the day/night (6am - 6 pm). So when you catch all the fish, fast forward to change it to day/night and you can fish more.
As of now, to our knowledge, there are 4 time-specific fishes which are:
Co-Op if you lack fish
You can co-op into other players' worlds and collect fishes and resources .
However those materials cannot be shared , i.e, once its replenished it will respawn after 3 days .

Enkanomiya region fishing spots

While Enkanomiya is a small region connected with Inazuma, reaching the two fishing points in The Serpent’s Heart can be a little tricky since they are in a lower region.

Step 1 : To reach the entrance for both of them, first you must go from the teleport in the northeast section in The Serpent’s Heart. From there, jump and fly to the lower area until you see stairs in the middle of some debris.

Step 2 : Follow the stairs and you will end up in a room from where you can go left and find one of the fishing spots, or you can climb the wall on the right side to reach an opening which will lead you to the second fishing spot.
