Haikyuu Season 1 Episode 7 Review | 'Versus The Great King'

In Haikyuu season 1 episode 6, Hinata’s health got worse as he felt pressurized because of the match. Kageyama had to prove that he’d changed and he had a good relationship with his team players. In Haikyuu season 1 episode 7, Oikawa made it hard for the team to stand on the court.

Toru Oikawa was the captain of Aoba Johsai High School and he was Kageyama’s senpai, that is, senior. Kageyama learned all his tossing and defense tricks from Oikawa. So when Kageyama was playing against Oikawa, it was a sight to behold as in versus the great king.

Oikawa’s return was a big threat to Kageyama and the whole Karasuno volleyball team as he was known for being a brilliant setter, and this was proven when he tossed the ball for the first team. Everybody was dumbstruck at his move. The Karasuno team was unable to figure out how the ball went.

In Haikyuu season 1 episode 7,  the match took a very interesting turn when Kageyama and Hinata were scoring the last point to win the match. Their partnership worked out so beautifully that everybody including Oikawa was amazed to see their last toss and spike.

Karasuno High defeated Aoba Johsai that day but Oikawa vowed they would face an even tougher match next time. It was a great match.

Kageyama and Kandaichi had a conversation to which Kageyama didn’t pay much attention. There was something very strange about Hinata and Kageyama’s relationship. They looked like they were each other’s nemesis but they had a pure understanding when it came to doing whatever it took for the team.

Though Kageyama learned his major tricks from Oikawa, Oikawa believed that Kageyama was an extraordinary player. Even though he taught him everything, he’d bettered himself in ways Oikawa never could. His way of tossing the ball was the best.

Akkeda couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw that Karasuno defeated a team that was in the top four. He even gave his words of wisdom to the team so that they could feel appreciated.

Over that, he believed that people meet for a reason, and that moment can result in a change in the world itself. Just like Kageyama and Hinata were destined to come to Karasuno. They were the perfect fit for Karasuno High.

Oikawa vowed to win the match next time. But Karasuno had a surprise of their own in its store. It was time for Karasuno’s guardian to return back to the team. As Hinata and Kageyama were practicing they were amazed to see another short guy with amazing reflexes.

Will Oikawa be able to fulfill his vow?
