Oikawa received the award for the best setter because of which Kageyama was jealous of him. He wanted that award. He wanted to be a better version of Oikawa. But even though he learnt major parts of volleyball from Oikawa, he became a better version of himself as a setter. His technique, reflexes, control over his body were way better than Oikawa. Even though Kageyama improved, Oikawa was still better than him at handling the team. Kageyama’s techniques were to the point but Oikawa’s instincts in matches and his way of seeing things spoke volumes. He was much more experienced as a setter than Kageyama.

Oikawa, himself, believed that he taught Kageyama everything he knew about volleyball. Still in many ways Kageyama had bested him. In no time, when Kageyama saw Oikawa shooting a dump shot, he turned his own strategy against him. During the match, Oikawa asked his coach to ask for a time out which was very strange for everyone as he asked for it way too early.

But it was his strategy as he’d caught Karasuno’s trick. He sensed that something was wrong during the whole match which was confirmed when he saw the video recording of their previous match. During the time out, Oikawa told his team to change their strategy in the match. He even told them to make sure that Kageyama saw that the strategy was changed so that he felt bad for his team as a setter. And as Johsai’s executed their new strategy, victory seemed out of reach for the Karasuno’s. They only scored a point when Hinata was in the front. Oikawa even had a way to shut down Tanaka but Tanaka being the good player he already was never lost his hope in Kageyama.

Kageyama knew how to stay in the match as he had to regain every point they lost but sadly before he could do it, they lost the first set. Kageyama was heartbroken as he blamed himself for not being a good setter in the match. But as they lost the first set, things got intense and in time Sugawara stepped up to the occasion.

As now Sugawara had used the golden card and replaced himself as the setter, will they survive the rest of the match?
