One of the top 3 Shounen Manga/Anime series is Bleach created by Tite Kubo. Bleach has everything that makes it a good Shounen series and Ichigo Kurosaki is part of the reason.
While most fans are awed by Kurosaki Ichigo and Rukia Kuchiki’s relationship dynamics, Bleach has some of the best female characters. Although Bleach is a pure shounen Manga with too many male characters, Bleach does have several good female characters.
Orihime Inoue was introduced as Ichigo’s friend and later a strong part of the team assisting the group. Similarly, Yoruichi Shihouin is a classic iconic female character in Bleach that we cannot forget.
Tier Harribel
One of the reasons that make Tier Harribel a good female character in the Bleach series is the Third Espada in the Aizen’s Army. Harribel is powerful and a no-nonsocial character that has her own unique charm.
Tier Harribel later becomes the de-facto ruler of Hueco Mundo and we will see her again in Bleach Thousand Year Blood War! Harribel is not just a good fighter or a visual beauty. She leaves a very strong presence in viewers’ minds. Harribel’s unique style and appearance make her appealing.
Tier Harribel is not simply a high-ranking female Espada, she adds more to the Arrancar Arc. Compared to other Arrancars, Harribel is taciturn, composed, calm, and often portrays an analytical side. Harribel is strong even Hitsugaya Tourshiro had a tough time dealing with her. Tier Harribel is all about Women's Empowerment!
Nelliel Tu / Nel
Either as a child-like Arrancar or a grown-up former Espada, Nelliel Tu made the Arrancar Arc quite appealing. Added with a good amount of humor with the damsel in distress act, Nel is another good female character in Bleach.
Living in Hueco Mundo with her adoptive brothers and pet, Nel did leave a very strong impression on Ichigo Kurosaki. Nelliel Tu is the former Third Espada which makes her quite strong, even more than Unquiora, ranked number four!
Nel develops an attachment towards Ichigo when they were in Las Noches, which is quite a contradiction as she doesn’t like Shinigamis. Nel often has sarcastic remarks toward Rukia almost viewing her as her rival for Ichigo’s affection.
There is a stark difference between her child-like form and when Nel transforms into her Espada mode. Nel is strong and has her own personality and does not value violence as a reason to fight.
Kukaku Shiba
The head of the Shiba Clan, Kukaku Shiba is one of the well-made female characters in Bleach.
Kukaku Shiba can be temperamental, and violent and knows how to get the best out of her brother Ganju and Ichigo Kurosaki. She helped Ichigo and the gang successfully break into Soul Society to rescue Rukia.
Later, in Thousand Year Blood War, she helped Ichigo to enter Royal Palace. Kukaku has a strong presence and is closely acquainted with Yoruichi. When it comes to a sassy vibe, Kukaku tops the list with Yoruichi!
Rangiku Matsumoto
The Lieutenant of the 10th Division, Rangiku Matsumoto is a personal favorite. Rangiku is more than just a good female character in Bleach, she adds to the vibe and can be very lively.
Although she looks the slacker type, let’s not forget she’s the vice-captain in the Gotei 13 for a reason. When Orihime was feeling down, it was Rangiku who helped her and reassured her.
Rangiku uses her feminine charms to get what she wants, although it never works with Toushiro. She is a good strategist when it comes to fighting and becomes 100% serious. Rangiku Matsumoto’s free-spirited nature and easygoing personality contrast with her sensitive nature towards others.
Retsu Unohana
Good doesn’t begin to define Retsu Unohana. The (former) captain of the Fourth Division, Retsu Unohana is one of the most likable female characters in Bleach. Unohana is one of the oldest and most experienced captains in the Gotei 13 and the first Kenpachi.
Bleach Thousand year Blood War will definitely be heartbreaking to see Retsu Unohana’s fate. Unohana even served as Captain of the 11th Division. She is the best healer in Soul society.
During the war against Aizen, Unohana healed Ichigo as he was on his way to the fight. Although Unohana is portrayed as a gentle, soft-spoken, and polite person, it will be intriguing to see her bloodthirsty nature in the upcoming series.
Yachiru
The President of Shinigami Women’s Association and Lieutenant of the 11th Division, Yachiru is almost always together with Kenpachi Zaraki. Yachiru is cheerful, energetic, and strong.
No one has ever opposed or told Yachuri to mind her manners and even Captain Yamamoto lets her be. Yachiru enjoys eating snacks and can be a very good infiltration specialist, although her sense of direction is quite questionable.
Orihime Inoue
Bleach would be incomplete without Orihime Inoue. Even Aizen knew who to kidnap to lure Ichigo Kurosaki. Orihime is a likable character and has her own charm.
Inoue Orihime can be too meddlesome and often worried about her role in Ichigo’s life but when it came to the real test, she helped Ichigo snap out when he almost became a complete Hollow. Orihime can be naive, and clueless but always cares about her friends.
Yoruichi Shihoin
The former Captain of the Stealth Forces and 2nd Division in the Gotei 13, Yoruichi Shihoin is one of the female characters in Bleach that was designed to appear more than a side character.
Yoruichi is strong, and intelligent and didn’t hold back when attacking Aizen with Kisuke Urahara. She played a critical part in assisting Ichigo in infiltrating the Soul Society to rescue Rukia. Her laid-back and chill attitude makes Yoruichi such a pleasing character.
Prashakhi
Rukia Kuchiki
Although Ichigo and Rukia never became the endgame, Rukia Kuchiki is a personal favourite! When Rukia was first introduced, she seemed like a manipulator with weird drawing skills and would do anything to annoy Ichigo. When the time came, Rukia saved Ichigo and saved his family.
Rukia Kuchiki is a good female character in Bleach with a good sense of humour, intelligence, and utmost devotion to Soul Society. Let’s not forget how many times Rukia came to aid Ichigo!
