This fall is swarmed with great dramas back to back. Dali and Coky Prince is the latest edition to the list of Kdramas from September 2021. The KBS drama Dali and Cocky Prince will charm your heart from the very beginning. The drama started with a very unusual premise and was entertaining throughout the episode. Dali and Coky Prince introduced the coky prince Jin Moo Hak and Da Li in a hilarious setting. The cast of Dali and Cocky Prince is another thing to watch out for. All eyes on Kim Min Jae, Park Gyu Young, Kwon Yool and Hwang Hee as the prime cast of Dali and Cocky Prince.
Dali and Cocky Prince Episode 1 starts with Jin Moo Hak (Kim Min Jae) as the business giant disciplining the hotel staff after a taster session of gamtajang. This guy seems obsessed with gamtajang and even calculates everything with bowls of gamtajang. Hat’s off to Mr Jin’s dedication. Jin Moo Hak has excellent money-making skills and was on his way to the Netherlands for a contract. The cliche set-up of father cancelling all his credit cards leaving a penniless Moo Hak stranded alone in a foreign country.
Da Li (Park Gyu Young) is a researcher of an art gallery in the Netherland. She seems like a workaholic who probably often skips her meals. Her supervisor literally kicked her out of the gallery because she was overworked. Such a kind employer! Dali and Cocky Prince meet as Jin Moo Hak arrives at the airport and Da Li picks him up. She picks the wrong Mr Jin and together they arrive at an extravagant art appreciation party.
Through chaos and confusion, Mr Jin is responsible to point out a fake painting and that gets them kicked out of the party. Worried that Da Li might lose her scholarship or have financial difficulties, he offers to back her up as the owner of Dondon F&B. This clears and the confusion as Da Li realises, the real Mr Jin is somewhere else.
Without money and no place to go, Moo Hak ends up at Da Li’s home. The next day the real Mr Jin is found and it’s time for them to part ways. Before separating Moo Hak gives Da Li his expensive watch and makes a promise to make time so they can go to the museum together. But without her contact number and the location details, Moo Hak is unable to get in touch with her.
Turns out Dal Li’s dad passes away and she hurries off to Korea. After Da Li’s dead funeral ceremony is over, the realisation hits her over. The art gallery is going bankrupt and his father has left huge financial debt for Da Li. At her dad’s funeral, Jang Tae Jin (Kwon Yool) is introduced who came to pay her dad a final visit. He was supposed to be married to her but things might have not worked out well between them. Joo Won Tak (Hwang Hee) visits as well, completely broken down. He is friends with her since childhood it seems. He works as a cop in the Gangnam violent crime investigation team. It turns out his landlord is none other than Jin Moo Hak.
Dali and Cocky Prince episode 2 has established all the main characters. Da Li’s dad’s death seems quite shady. Moo Hak’s brother was in the scene and he is definitely hiding something. Moo Hak and his brother have given a huge amount of loan to Da Li’s dad which needs to be retrieved now.
Meanwhile, Moo Hak is obsessed with finding Da Li and insists that he was conned by her. At the end of Dali and Cocky Prince episode 2, Moo Hak storms up at the art gallery and meets Da Li. The story will begin as the debt collector Moo Hak will need to retrieve his investment sum from Da Li.
