Demon Slayer is an anime with one of the best visual and sound effects out there. And with all that, they present sheer gore.
The bloodbath between demons and the brave crusade that a select few carry out against them is an audio-visual treat.
The series had a great last year. It seems fated to end this year on a high note too.
The show has had great pacing and the voice actors' castings for each Hashiras have been on point. It broke all kinds of records and the sales kept sky-rocketing even amid the Covid pandemic.
This can be greatly credited to Ufotable Studios. The animation of the show has been some of the best ones in recent years. At this point, even non-anime watchers know of Nezuko and Tanjiro. Such is the popularity of the show in recent years.
Here we will be discussing the potential deaths of characters in the upcoming arc. The Entertainment District Arc follows Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, as he goes to rescue his wives who are missing in action.
Along with him is the trifecta of our heroes. Tanjiro, Zenistsu and Inosuke.
As they struggle and fight through the toughest of odds, there are some obvious wounds and casualties. Here is a breakdown of how various characters fare in the show.
1. Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro is the protagonist of the show. He plays an obvious main part throughout this arc. We are going to see him evolve as a person and as a swordsman.
Tanjiro goes toe to toe against one of the toughest demons in the series this time.
The breath of the sun passed down by his father is going to take a real toll on Tanjiro this time.
Also, Tanjiro is going to develop his Demon Slayer mark. During his fights against Daki and Gyutaro, he is at a severe disadvantage, unable to keep up with the pace of the upper moon 6, brother and sister.
He is left in grave condition by the end of the fight.
2. Tengen Uzui
Tengen Uzui is the Sound Hashira who is currently following after the trial of his wives’ disappearance in the Entertainment District Area.
His wives have been sent undercover as spies to look for demons in the area. Tengen is a ninja.
Through the whole arc, there are various points where we see this work to his advantage. In his fight against the upper moon 6, Tengen gets poisoned.
Although he shrugs it off by telling Daki that he is immune, it later affects him quite a bit. Tengen is retired by the end of the arc.
3. Inosuke and Zenitsu
Inosuke and Zenitsu have a major part to play this time around. As the upper-moon demons share a common number this time, both the demons need to be beheaded at the same time.
Inosuke and Zenitsu go up against one of the demons Daki. Both of them show amazing coordination and strength throughout the fight.
Sadly they are still overpowered brutally. It is through sheer perseverance that both of them eventually get out of it victorious.
However, they are left barely alive. The duo is in a very serious condition post their fight with Daki.
4. Nezuko Kamado
Nezuko Kamado is the little sister of Tanjiro who was turned into a demon by Kibutsuji. Though she has regained her humanity by averting from feeding on humans altogether.
This fight around, when she sees the odds are stacked heavily against them, Nezuko has her moment of brilliance.
Like other powerful demons, she too develops a blood art technique. Using this, she overpowers Daki. In the aftermath, Nezuko is stopped by Tanjiro from going on a rampage. I
t takes a huge physical and even major emotional toll on Nezuko to revert to her demon-like instincts for the safety of her people.
5. Daki and Gyutaro
Daki and Gyutaro are brother and sister and the primary antagonists of the Entertainment District Arc. Turned into demons by Kibitsuji, they both have now reached the rank of upper moon 6.
If Mugen Train was a tear-jerker for you, this one will need tons of napkins too! One of the most beautiful relationships is shown.
The duo is truly ferocious. Even after Tengen cuts off Daki’s head, Daki comes back to life, showing off amazing vitality.
If it weren't for the huge numbers of opponents the demons clearly outclassed the heroes. Daki and Gyutaro die at the end of the arc.
A clear comparison to the people on the other side of the spectrum - Tanjiro and Nezuko.
