Future Presidential Envoys- BTS

Korean President Moon Jae-in met the K-pop group BTS on Tuesday, September 14, at his office to hand them their appointment papers for their roles as special envoys for public diplomacy. Last July, the President appointed BTS, consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook as Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and culture. The septet went to Chong Wa Dae, or Blue House, the official office and residence of the president for their appointment ceremony.

"We have grown up together with the current youth generation. We have directly and indirectly witnessed and experienced the impact of society, such as global problems and a great economic crisis. We will participate, whether it is a general meeting or if there is something we can do and we have the strength to do it," according to Soompi, an English-language website providing coverage of Korean pop culture.
