The South Korean K-pop Boy group BTS who started their journey as young boys from different small towns in South Korea who were clueless that someday their voices will be heard by millions of people and will be able to represent their country has finally broken all benchmarks when it comes to success.
Korean President Moon Jae-in met K-pop group BTS on Tuesday, September 14, at his office to hand them their appointment papers for their roles as special envoy for public diplomacy. Last July, the President had appointed BTS, consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook as special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and culture. The septet went to Chong Wa Dae, or Blue House, the official office and residence of the president for their appointment ceremony.
The famous boy group is also scheduled to attend the 76th UN General Assembly next week.
"We have grown up together with the current youth generation. We have directly and indirectly witnessed and experienced the impact of society, such as global problems and a great economic crisis. We will participate, whether it is a general meeting or if there is something we can do and we have the strength to do it," according to Soompi, an English-language website providing coverage of Korean pop culture.
