One of Anime’s most successful genres is the Shounen genre. When it comes to Shounen Anime and Manga, one can not overlook the Legendary Big Three.
The Big Three of the previous generation, two of which have ended their immortal runs, are Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. With One Piece still growing ever popular and timeless, fans needed a New Big Three to cling to.
As such the new generation’s Legendary Big Three emerged. While One Piece holds its solid throne, Boku no Hero Academia, Black Clover, and Kimetsu no Yaiba have come to be recognized as the new Big Three.
While the third member is changing yet again due to Kimetsu no Yaiba’s conclusion, the other two have taken fans by storm, paving the way for the future.
Black Clover is a manga series with a very vibrant roster of characters, originally written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata sensei.
Serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2015, there are 27 volumes currently. The anime series is done by Studio Pierrot, which started in 2017, licensed by Crunchyroll and Funimation.
The story of Black clover centers around the main character Asta, who is an energetic young boy supposedly born without any magic powers.
Regardless, Asta vows to become the next Wizard King with the help of the supporting cast of Black Clover characters, who are mainly his fellow mages from the Black Bulls squad.
Sounds pretty generic, but the Black Clover characters like Luck Voltia, Noelle Silva, Yami Sukehiro, Zora Ideale, and Yami Sukehiro are all quite interesting and unique. How so?
Looking at the center stage characters makes that evident.
1. Asta
Asta is the main character among the list of Black Clover Characters, who was originally an orphan under the care of the Hage church.
Despite being a cheerful and hyperactive boy in a world overflowing with magic, he has no magical power whatsoever.
To conquer his weakness, he increases his physical strength. After turning 15 years old, he receives a five-leaf clover grimoire encasing the Anti Magic Devil Liebe.
This grimoire lets Asta wield Anti-Magic due to his own lack of mana.
Aspiring to become the Wizard King one day, he joins the Clover Kingdom’s Black Bull squad of the Magic Knights where he becomes a 3rd Class Junior Magic Knight.
Always striving to get stronger, he hones his senses to be able to predict an opponent’s attack by sensing their ki. Additionally, with his sword, he can destroy magic’s actual effects, even after a spell is cast.
But what’s a Shounen main character without an epic transformation? Asta gains the ability to transform into a form known as “Black Asta” by using the power grimoire’s devil.
At the cost of becoming a target in the eyes of the Magic Parliament, who deems him a monster, he shoulders this great power.
2. Yuno
One of the main supporting characters of Black Clover is Yuno. Seemingly an orphan at first, he is revealed to actually be a prince from the Spade Kingdom’s former royal family House Grinberryall.
While at the same church as Asta, he eventually acquires a four-leaf clover grimoire and becomes a member of the Golden Dawn.
Wielding mighty Wind Magic, he has a serious personality and acts as Asta’s rival throughout the series. Being pretty calm and seemingly emotionless most of the time, he is a man of few words who keeps his cool.
The only time he breaks this character would be when he fights a worthy opponent or when he sees Asta’s strength.

3. Noelle Silva
Among the Black Clover Characters, the main female character is Noelle Silva. Being both a member of Black Bulls and a child of the Clover Kingdom’s Royal Family, Noelle Silva possesses insane mana reserves and powerful Water magic.
While having a somewhat troubled family background, she holds back on her powers in fear of bringing harm to others.
But with her friends Noelle Silva overcomes this hurdle as they all march forward, becoming stronger by the day. On the romance side of this series, the kind, confident and brave Noelle Silva has strong feelings for Asta, but as expected not very open about it.
4. Yami Sukehiro
The rest of the Black Bull Squad feature intriguing characters as well. Yami Sukehiro is the first captain of the Black Bull squad.
Yami Sukehiro is uncouth, reckless, critical, threatening, easy to provocate but also powerful and respected amongst his peers.
Yami Sukehiro recognizes and gives Asta a chance even when no other captain did.

5. Luck Voltia
Luck Voltia is a 5th CLass Junior Magic Knight under the Black Bull squad. Bordering along the lines of a sociopath, his most prominent mood would be one of joy.
Being somewhat of a battle-hungry person, Luck Voltia houses the elf Lufulu within him.
As a member of the Black Bulls, Luck Voltia also wears their signature robe. The said robe is black in color and only covers the upper half of his torso.
6. Zora Ideale
Zora Ideale is a 1st class Junior Magic Knight of Black Bull. Being the son of Zara Ideale, the first peasant Magic Knight, he is quite disrespectful and impolite.
Feeling a general need to strike down stuck-ups, Zora Ideale is primarily a prankster.
Zora Ideale is incredibly unpredictable as well as intelligent. These are just the cream of the crop of Black Clover characters.
