Black Clover Manga Complete Review

Black Clover Manga is a Japanese manga series which is written and also illustrated by Yūki Tabata. The story revolves around Asta, a young boy seemingly born without any magic power, something that is unknown in the world he lives in. With his allies from the Black Bulls, Asta plans to become the next Wizard King. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since February 2015, and has been collected into 27 tankobon volumes as of January 2021.

Black Clover Manga was first adapted into an original video animation produced by Xebec Zwei, released in 2017. An anime television series adaptation produced by Pierrot premiered in Japan on Tokyo TV in October 2017. Black Clover Manga series has been licensed for an English language release in North America by Viz Media, while the anime series is licensed by Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Black Clover Manga series focuses on Asta, a young orphan who was raised from birth after being abandoned at the doorstep of an orphanage in Hage village along with his fellow orphan, Yuno. While everyone is born with the ability to utilize Mana in the form of Magical Power , Asta is the only exception.

He tries to gain magical power through physical training. Conversely, Yuno was born as a prodigy with immense magical power and the talent to control wind magic. Motivated by a desire to become the next Wizard King, an authority figure second to the king of Clover Kingdom, the two youths developed a friendly rivalry.

Yuno obtains a legendary four-leaf grimoire held by the kingdom’s first Wizard King. Asta, despite his lack of magic, obtained the mysterious five-leaf grimoire (which cannot be clearly identified by others since it is worn out), which contains mysterious elf swords and rare anti-magic.

Afterward, he and Yuno each join a Magic Knight squad as the first step to fulfill their ambitions. Throughout the story Asta and Yuno embark on various adventures, as they make a name for themselves throughout the Clover Kingdom.

Black Clover Manga, main character personally resembles to Hinata from Haikyuu!. There are many factors of different manga that seem like “ripoffs” of other manga that came before it. Unfortunately, great minds think alike and inspirations exist so similar ideas cannot be avoided easily. There are plenty of manga’s with extremely similar storylines as others! This applies especially to shoujo romances. It’s ridiculous how many of them are similar to each other.

Black Clover Manga , coming from some unknown lil’ shit so this is something right up my ally. If you enjoy Main Characters x Awesomeness, I think you’ll enjoy this. As for me, I never get tired of that kind of cliche. Many of the other characters start to understand how great the main character, Aster, is after battling alongside or against him.

Aster’s rival, Juno, is just as admirable in terms of his power. And no, he isn’t “emotionless” like Sasuke from Naruto as one of the reviews commented on. Anyone can tell that pretty easily if you follow Black Clover’s story.

The story is good enough for me. Unless you’re a big Naruto fan and sees this as a total “ripoff” then you might not be gracious enough to give it a chance. I know Naruto’s characters- Naruto and Sasuke, fairly.

And they are pretty different from the two main male characters of Black Clover. From what I see- including background, how they grew up, their friendship and views, are all different. They do have similarities but many differences as well. You’re just looking at the wrong place.
