If you’ve watched Naruto, One Piece, or Dragon Ball, you’re familiar with the ever-so-popular Shonen genre. Although Shonen focuses on male protagonists, these 10 powerful and badass shonen female characters could have their own show. Shonen predominantly focuses on male protagonists as well as male characters in general. That leaves room for lesser screen time for most female characters. Except, of course, for the really powerful and badass female characters that could kill you easily. That means they are NOT to be messed with and are on or near the same level of power as the male protagonists. In the wake of feminism in anime, we’ve always wanted to see female characters use their powers and have their own show.
Shonen anime with female protagonists and powerful characters have redefined the Shonen genre for what it really is. These female characters have their own stories that could have their own show along with unmatched skills. Whether it is Sakura Haruno as a grownup or Mikasa Ackerman, we love them.
